Sunnycrest Orchards Holiday Fair!

Source

Holiday Market and Craft Show
Sunnycrest Orchards Farm Market
November 19th and 20th
9-4
7869 State Route 10
Sharon Springs, NY 13459
(518) 284-2256

As of this morning, Candles By Nature is now signed up for the Holiday Fair at Sunnycrest Orchards in Sharon Springs. The fair will be on November 19th and 20th, from 9-4. There will be tons of vendors selling local goods, along with some food vendors and the lovely farm store at Sunnycrest. This is the perfect time to come out and buy unique, handmade Christmas gifts for everyone on your list!

If you've never been to Sharon Springs, you need to get your butt out there pronto! (Preferably some time during the Holiday Fair...hint, hint.) It's such a sweet little town, I'm really excited to be back there again. My boyfriend and I had gone out there last fall with his Mom when she was visiting and they were having their Harvest Fest at the time. It was such a nice way to see the town, Everyone was out and about, enjoying each others company. I'm sure it will be the same for the Holiday Fair (albeit a tad bit colder haha).

(PS: Sharon Springs is also the home of the Planet Green series The Fabulous Beekman Boys. I've never actually seen the show myself, but I've heard it's pretty good and it's really neat to have one of our small upstate towns being featured in a popular TV show!)

Christmas on Etsy

Wow, it feel like it's been forever since I've posted! I've been insanely busy at work, trying to get 2 weeks worth of work done in a few days before I go away on vacation. Not to mention the annual Christmas prep craziness...and we're not even decorating our apartment this year since we'll be away! *cries*

Now that I finally have a moment to breathe, I wanted share with you guys some of the awesome gifts I've found on Etsy thus far:

This first one isn't actually a gift, but every year we send out cards and I wanted to go handmade this time. I think these cards are freakin' adorable! If you look closely, you may also notice that the background is made to resemble wood grain!

I found this sweet little pillbox for my sister, who is always forgetting to take her medications and vitamins. Plus, the saying on it is perfect for her because her nickname as a child was "Trouble" (one guess why haha).

My best friend is a long-time vegetarian/occasional vegan and recently started following a raw diet, so I was super psyched when I found these delectable raw truffles!

I have my eye on this adorable felt pincushion for my sister-in-law who is a super-duper sewer.

I still have no idea what I'm getting for my brother. Have you guys come across anything neat on Etsy for music lovers? He's really into DJ'ing, house music, playing guitar, etc.

Welp, that's all I've come up with so far. I hope you're having as much fun as I am tracking down unique and handmade gifts this year  ;)

Giving Thanks

Source
I am SUPER excited for Thanksgiving. This past year has been really rough on my family for various reasons, so this holiday season will be especially important for us. I know we are all looking forward to being together and finally having a chance to treasure the good things in our lives, rather than focusing on the difficult times we've had during the past several months.

In honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I'm featuring some of my favorite pieces on Etsy that would certainly adorn my Thanksgiving dinner table if I had a bit of extra cash!

First some lighting to create a cozy atmosphere...These would be perfect for some of my tealights!

I am in love with this felt pumpkin, it would add a little touch of whimsy to any harvest table.

Mmm...my mom's pumpkin pie would look perfect in this gorgeous pie plate!

And these would be a great fit for hot cider or coffee with dessert...

Ah, now I'm even more excited to dress up our Thanksgiving table! I wish you all a wonderful holiday, and I hope you take a moment from stuffing your bellies with delicious food and take stock of all the good things in this world  :)

Holiday Scents

I know some of you may be thinking it's a bit odd to start planning for the holidays when we haven't even hit Halloween yet. But hey, there's nothing wrong with planning ahead, right? I've been trying out some wintry scents to feature during the coming months and my two favorites so far are Holly Berry and Christmas Tree.

Holly Berry has such a distinct scent that brings me back to the days when I was still young enough to sit in my PJs with a cup of cocoa, awaiting Santa's arrival (wait...I still do that haha). I am definitely in love with this scent. I've been burning my test candle at the office all week and it puts a smile on my face the second I walk into the room.

My second favorite of the holiday scents is Christmas Tree. It smells exactly like a big ol' pine tree and makes me wish it were December already so that me and the fam could go on our search for the perfect tree.

I'll be posting these guys in my Etsy shop within the next week or so, after I've put together a nice holiday scene to feature them. Be on the lookout for these new scents as well as some new teacup candles!
