Aromatherapy Collection Price Reduction

I have some exciting news for you guys! I'm constantly looking for ways to reduce production costs while still maintaining the quality of my products. In particular, I've been searching for more cost-effective options for my Aromatherapy Collection so that I can offer these great candles to my customers at more affordable rates. And, alas, I've been able to find a way to pass my savings on to you lovely shoppers!

All 4-ounce candles in my Aromatherapy Collection are now reduced from $7.00 to $6.50! I'm planning on keeping these prices for as long as possible. And since I'm always on the hunt for better deals (just like I know many of you are, as well), my hope is that sometime in the near future I can further reduce the prices for you!

Please be sure to check out my Aromatherapy Collection in my Etsy shop and remember that you can always contact me on Etsy (or right here on my blog) if you have any questions or would like to request custom items. Happy Sunday!  :)

Aromatherapy/Botanicals Tip of the Week

I just discovered this great blog maintained by the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA). Their November post was written by Gina Rafkind, an Aromatherapy Consultant. In her post, Rafkind explains how aromatherapy can be helpful for relieving anxiety. This sparked my interest because my sister has struggled with anxiety for several years and at one point even suffered from anxiety-induced seizures. Now that I have some reliable information on using aromatherapy to treat anxiety, I'm definitely going to pass this along to my sister! Hopefully she can use aromatherapy to supplement her current treatment rather than solely relying on synthetic medications.

In particular, Rafkind highlights specific oils, including ylang ylang, chamomile, sandalwood, and lavender. She also goes into detail about exactly how aromatherapy triggers your sense of smell in order to redirect your thoughts away from anxiety. For more information on her helpful suggestions, visit the post here.

Aromatherapy/Botanicals Tip of the Week

You know that icky feeling in your stomach that you sometimes get after a big meal? Or after eating something that your body just didn't agree with? For most, a stomachache would mean a trip to the medicine cabinet or drug store for some Pepto Bismol. But it turns out, there are plenty of natural herbal remedies out there that work just as well, if not better.

According to Earthy Family, the seeds from herbs such as dill, caraway, fennel, anise, coriander, and cumin all help to relieve gas. This explains why many Indian restaurants offer candied fennel and anise seeds after the meal. Earthy Family recommends placing a spoonful of the seeds in a mug with boiling water and allowing it to steep for five minutes to create a tea. Not only does this sound delicious, but I'm sure it would be a great way to cure an upset tummy.

An article on LiveStrong also recommends drinking chamomile or ginger tea to soothe indigestion and stomach cramps. Peppermint tea can also be especially helpful after a big meal it calms the muscles in your stomach, digestive tract, and intestines.

My favorite suggestion of all is the use of rosemary because that's my all-time favorite herb. According to LiveStrong, you can make a rosemary tea by steeping 2-4 grams of dried rosemary in boiling water, then straining before drinking. This should help with bloating, cramps, and indigestion. Yay, now I have yet another use for rosemary! ;)

I've Finally Posted my Aromatherapy Collection!

It's been a long time in the making, but I've finally posted the first two scents in my Aromatherapy Collection. This collection marks my emergence into the lovely world of essential oils and I am so happy to be there! While I love the endless options available with fragrance oils, I think I get the most enjoyment from working with essential oils because they literally are as pure and natural as it gets.

The essential oils that I'm using are from a local shop called Avalon Moon in Delhi, NY. If you're ever in the area, you owe it to yourself to drop by this shop. The atmosphere is absolute tranquility and the owner, Hazel, is always so sweet and helpful.

The first two candles in my Aromatherapy Collection are:

Love

Love is an aromatherapy blend of Patchouli and Cinnamon. Use to attract a lover or to create a loving environment.

Health

Health is an aromatherapy blend of Rosemary, Juniper, and Sandalwood. Use to encourage healing.

Anyone familiar with Wicca (or aromatherapy, for that matter) will be delighted to know that the oil blends in my collection have been inspired by the renowned Scott Cunningham, so you know that they are a safe bet!

I welcome you to check out my Aromatherapy Collection, available now on my Etsy shop. And be sure to check back again soon because I am actively testing new blends, which I'll be posting soon!
